Booking requests and confirmation
A request sent through our website, by e-mail or by phone is not yet a binding booking. We reply with an offer; the booking becomes binding once you accept the offer and we have received the deposit.
Cottages booked directly online via Nightsbridge are confirmed under the conditions shown there. Activities are not automatically included in an online booking; please send us your wishes as early as possible, as we cannot guarantee their availability otherwise.
Rates and inclusions
Rates are per person and night and include half board (breakfast and dinner). Single occupancy, children and full board are charged according to the current rate list. Activities, transfers and drinks are charged separately unless they are part of a package. Special rates for Namibian residents are available on personal request. All rates are quoted in Namibian dollars (NAD); amounts in other currencies are indicative only.
Deposit and payment
A deposit of 30% of the total is due within 7 days of our confirmation. The balance is due 30 days before arrival. For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, the full amount is due immediately. Bank and transfer charges are borne by the guest.
Cancellation by the guest
Cancellations must be made in writing. The following charges apply, calculated on the total booking amount:
60 days or more before arrival: free of charge, except bank charges. 59 to 30 days: 30% (the deposit). 29 to 8 days: 60%. 7 days or less, or no-show: 100%. Early departure or unused services are not refunded.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance including cancellation, medical cover and emergency evacuation.
Changes and cancellation by Ibenstein
Activities depend on weather, the season, the wellbeing of our animals and safety considerations. We may adapt or cancel an activity at short notice; activities cancelled by us are not charged or are refunded. In the event of force majeure (for example natural events, fire, official orders or epidemics) we will look for an alternative together with you.
Horse riding: safety and conditions
Horse riding involves inherent risks, even with experienced guides and well-trained horses. Riding is at the rider’s own risk. Before the first ride, every rider signs a riding and indemnity form.
The maximum rider weight is 70 kg for beginners and 85 kg for experienced riders. Riders must state their weight and riding level truthfully. On regular rides, riders must be able to handle all gaits in open terrain; beginners ride on dedicated beginners’ rides.
Helmets are available to borrow and are strongly recommended. The guide’s instructions must be followed at all times. For the safety of guests and horses, the guide may change the route or pace, end a ride early or refuse a rider.
Wildlife, flights and other activities
Ibenstein is home to wild animals. Please keep to the guides’ instructions on game drives, walks and hikes, and do not approach animals on your own. Mountain hikes require sure-footedness. Scenic flights take place at the pilot’s discretion and depend on the weather.
Liability and personal belongings
Ibenstein is liable only for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, to the extent permitted by law. We accept no liability for loss of or damage to personal belongings.
Privacy
We use the details you send us only to answer your request and to organise your stay. We do not pass them on to third parties unless this is necessary for your booking (for example for transfers or activities). If you join our waitlist, we will only write to you about our Horse Riding Safaris; you can unsubscribe at any time.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
